"MY Snack!!" A 3d animated short made in Maya

"MY Snack!!!!"

That's right, posting two days in a row! That's because it's that time of year - final projects are all being finished.

I know I don't post a lot of Maya stuff but I just had to show you guys this cute little animation I made for my 3d animation class.

Since this is just a quick playblast and not a full render, it is not very detailed. So, I decided to post a few screenshots so you can see the facial expressions better. :3

Posters

I don't often post my school projects on here, but I just thought I would put up this one since it kind of relates to my art. The assignment was to create a suite of 3 posters which can only have 3 colors + 1 stock. Here's what I came up with:

Can you identify these three characters?

Also, March 1st I have something special planned for my blog. Please come back then and take a look :)

Rose in 3d! - Maya - Complete!

And here's the final render of Rose.
-
Isn't she cute? I actually spent quite a bit of time in photoshop painting on extra details after the modeling was done to make her perfect. And now she looks like could just about walk out of the screen.
-
I did model the rose on the side entirely on my own. It wasn't as complicated as it looks; I found a method that worked pretty well. Overall, I think I'm really improving with Maya, and am not nearly as frustrated with it as I once was. Maybe I'll make some more cool stuff with it someday. :)

Next post will be my 50th on this blog! I should make it something special ^.^

Rose In 3d! - Maya (Unfinished)

It occured to me that I've never once posted any of my 3d work. Well, time for something new!
Remember Rose, from my flash animation half a year ago? If not, this might jog your memory:

And now I've started building her in 3d, via Autodesk Maya! Take a look at what I've got so far:

As you can see, she still needs arms... >w<>
She'll be done in about a week, and I will post finished shots!

One-Wing Logo and Turnaround

Here we have a post with a bunch of art involving none other than this site's mascot, my pretty muse One-Wing.
These are for my portfolio seminar class - and also my porfolio (obviously). The first is a logo which I will use for myself (though I may make other drafts of it later). The second is a turnaround- that is, 3 different views of the character - 1 front, 1 quarter, and 1 side.

Right now I am working on an animated version of the logo in flash. That will be posted when finished, of course!

Final Flash Project - "Rose's Debut"

Meet Rose.
-
She is the star of my final flash project. And she'd like to perform for you.
-
And so, here is the first of my two final projects for this year. The quality isn't so good jut because I had to convert my flash file into an avi in order to get it uploaded, so I lost a bit of quality there. Overall though, it's still pretty cute! And it's 50 seconds even though the project was only required to be 10. Yay for over-achieving.

Here is the clip itself (be sure to have the sound on when you watch!!):

Youtube version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mQiMR1NqQxQ

I might still tweak/smooth out the motion a little, so if I do, I will update the clip.

And because the quality is so bad, I decided to include a few screenshots from the original:

Lastly, for those who are curious, here's what it looks like in the flash interface (click to enlarge):

Well, that was fun... though I would be alright without hearing that song again for a few months, hehe.
